Route Selection for Vientiane-Pakse Expressway Project Section from Bolikhamxay to Saravan in Lao.

The project is the south section of Lao national highway No.13. It's a new constructed two-way four-lane expressway with the width of 25.5 m and the pavement structure of asphalt concrete. The road with total length of 451 km is divided into three sections, they are the section from Paksan, the provincial capital of Bolikhamxay, to Thakhek, the provincial capital of Khammouane, the total length is 199km; the section from Thakhek to Savannakhet with length of 117 km; and the section from Savannakhet to Saravan with the length of 135 km. 7 interchanges, 141 grade separations with total length of 7755 meters, 6 long bridges with total length of 1312 meters and 73 medium bridges with total length of 5546 meters were designed.
This is the first and longest expressway consulting project we won through public tendering.
This road is located in the only transport corridor from the capital Vientiane to the Mekong River basin in the Central and Southern Laos. It also undertakes the need for entry and exit routes between Laos and Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia. The completion of this project will meet the increasing traffic demand along the road, while promoting rapid economic growth in Laos and surrounding ASEAN countries.
