The project will have a positive and far-reaching impact on speeding up the construction process of the golden triangle of the Yellow River in Sha’anxi, Shanxi and Henan, and promoting the economic development of Sanmenxia City and even Henan Province. The new southward moving project of national highway N310 from boundary of Luoyang/Sanmenxia to west Sanmenxia is generally in east-west direction, passing through Yima City, Mianchi County and Shanzhou District of Sanmenxia City. The starting point of the project is located at the junction of Yima City and Xin'an County of Luoyang, and it is connected to the end of Luoyang section of G310 planned in the same period. To the west, Yima City interchange, Mianchi and Guanyintang simple interchange are proposed. The total length of the route is about 90.37km.

The project is designed according to the standard of four-lane class-I highway, with subgrade width of 24.5m, separated subgrade of 12.75m and design speed of 80km/h. The design load grade of the bridge is highway grade-I; the flood frequency of subgrade, bridge and culvert is 1/100, and that of grand bridge is 1/300; the width of carriageway is 2 × 2 × 3.75m. The total budget estimate approved is about 6733.7 million CNY.
