Jiyuan-Yangcheng Expressway is one of the inter-provincial highways connecting Henan Province and Shanxi Province. The total length of the route is 19.7km, the total length of the tunnel is 12.079km, and the tunnel accounts for 61.3 per cent of the total length of the route. This project has the characteristics of bridge-tunneling alternation (bridge - tunnel ratio is the highest in Henan province, up to 80.3%), big elevation difference (long slope), and the complex geological conditions (two large faults).

　　In view of the impact of the long slope on the operation safety, the escape rescue channels and cross passages were set, the fire ventilation measures, rescue and evacuation plan were made.
