The project length of reconstruction and expansion of section Luoyang - Sanmenxia (Henan/Shanxi border) of Lianyungang – Khorgos Expressway is 194.943km, with a two-way eight-lane standard and design speed of 100km/h.

On the original route, because the slope of the Guanyintang section is pretty high, the terrain fluctuates frequently, and it is difficult to widen on one or both sides. Taking into account the geological conditions of the terrain in the area, the design adopts the scheme of single-hole four-lane tunnels, of which the Qingshiling tunnel is 1005m long, the Jinyinshan tunnel is 1178m long and the Zhangmao tunnel is 1935m long. The excavation span reached 21m to 24m, this is a leading level, and it’s the longest single-hole four-lane tunnel in China. The risk assessment, design, construction, quality control and operation safety of the single-hole four-lane long tunnel are at the leading level in China.
